Sewing machine rage...

My sewing machine is broken, well I say mine, it's actually my Mum's and she informed me today that it is in fact 32 years old, so I suppose it has had a good run, however it is a bit inconvenient for me that it has decided to die.
So instead of being able to upload some new work I found a couple old collage cards that I made for people a few years back while I was clearing out my comp files.
I still really like the chair one, wish I still had the original collage, and the other one was for my surrogate big bro Pete's birthday. It is a bit odd, but he was going out on a superhero fancy dress night!

In other news...

My best friend is in the Sun today, not on page 3...but page 18, looking beautiful as always, opposite James Buckley ("Jay"), yeah she's in the Inbetweeners movie.
I've always been her biggest fan, but now she's going to be famous I'm think I'm going to have to start acting like a crazy-fan so perhaps I'll wear a t-shirt with her face on it and go to see the film 18 times...

I went charity shop browsing, in search of a little inspiration. I came away with a few nice little books, my favourite of the bunch being the 99p, "A Pageant of Modern Verse" first published in 1949, this copy being from 1959. It comes complete with faded spine, margin notes (think it was a school book) and the smell that only an old book has. Looks to have once been owned by Camilla, so whoever she is, I have her to thank for my current source of inspiration.

I have decided to work my way through the book and hopefully make some nice pieces of work using the poems as my starting points/guide.
Below is my first attempt, for the first poem of the book (also below) entitled "Enter these Enchanted Woods".
It is a collage of magazine bits and pieces, think I'm going to do something else with it now, not entirely sure what, but I don't think this is the end product just yet.
